As a community engaged in conversation and covenant with God, members and friends of our church are eager to extend prayer life beyond Sunday mornings into the rest of the week. In addition to expressing gratitude and experiencing peace by simply being in God’s presence, we also respond to the Apostle Paul’s exhortation: “…in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God” (Philippians 4:6). Thus, when someone wants to request that prayers be lifted up related to a specific person or situation, we spread the word via e-mail and telephone to approximately sixty individuals who have asked to be part of the prayer chain ministry.
Anyone can participate, either as a prayer chain member who is contacted to pray, or as a person asking for prayers. In either case, contact the church at email@example.com or 463-7734.
Important note: To honor privacy needs, requests for prayers for another individual should be made by name only if that person has agreed beforehand. Otherwise, requests should be anonymous, as in, “Please pray for someone who was diagnosed with cancer yesterday.”
